Abstract:
This biography of Wilde's starts with his Irish roots and covers a wide variety of his adult exploits. The author looks at his lovers, his unfortunate wife, his enemies and friends. Included is his 1882 American tour, his storming of the French literary bastions and London during the 1890s with Lillie Langtry, the Prince of Wales and Wilde's affair with Lord Alfred Douglas.
